More in Depth?
Personality:
She accomplishes what she sets her mind to. She doesn't brag and doesn't complain when things don't go her way, she does what needs to be done. She is highly analytical, but can often miss the simple solution in front of her. She has a strong sense of faith. Her belief in magic is so strong that evidence of mutants and mutation cannot sway her from it. She is hard to read at times, like when angry she will not show her irritation and unless she tells you how she is feeling there is little way of knowing.
She is good at handling people, but has a tendency to use people to complete her goals. She is calm under pressure and can be a strong leader due to her flexibility when faced with obstacles. Unfortunately she is a bit of a perfectionist. She does things at her own pace and is picky with the people she associates with. She dislikes anyone who thinks magic is impossible Such close-mindedness, in her opinion, is outdated when they live in a world with powered individuals.
She has a dry sense of humor oftentimes more sarcastic then not. She can be extremely stubborn and dislikes to accept any sort of punishment from others. Whenever possible she likes to reverse such punishments on those individuals.

What I can Do and Can't
Powers: Acid Generation: Her blood is corrosive. It works like an acid in that it corrodes what it touches. It may be possible to have her other body fluids work in this manner, but blood was the only one that was naturally corrosive. While she has never tried to make something like her saliva corrosive, though useful it seems too dangerous if it ends up permanently active like her blood. She is immune to the harmful effects of her blood.
Blood Manipulation: Her belief in magic has her commonly refer to this as Hemomancy. When she was young she would use her blood like a telekinetic hand allowing her to reach and manipulate objects she otherwise couldn't. Over time she has honed this particular skill being able to create simple objects out of her blood. For example she can throw daggers of blood that are able to cut like actual daggers. Doing such feats requires her to focus.
Due to her skill at the manipulation of her own blood she can generate more blood in her body then a normal human is able, and using her blood she can allow for limited regeneration of cuts and minor wounds. Vivi has never attempted to regenerate anything anything larger then that, since she require concentration, she doubts that if she was that seriously injured she would be able to focus on regeneration. As of now Vivi needs to be able to see her opponents blood to be able to manipulate it.
One time when a dog attacked her she cut it and use its blood to bind it legs, as if with a rope, so it couldn't chase after her. She could have imagined more lethal objects then a rope, but she doesn't want to kill anything if she doesn't have to.
Abilities: Vivi is skilled with a knife, at least enough not disembowel herself when she needs blood for magic. She can read Latin, which she hopes will help her learn incantations some day. She also plays a mean game of Pictionary. She can understand Spanish, but can not speak it.
Weaknesses: A number of Vivi's abilities rely on sight and concentration, so if she can't see she is hindered in the type of techniques she can pull off. If Vivi's concentration is broken she can lose control of her powers.
What Happened to Me
Vivi's first memories are of their tiny apartment in what would call a rough neighborhood. Most of the buildings were old, but this was not uncommon in New York City. She remember they air smelled of spices, the kind you find in sometimes spicy, but oftentimes tasty foods. She also remembered light, a halo formed from the beams of light as the past through the blinds of their dingy windows. She was told that she had been quite the eater as a baby. Just about everything they put in front of her she would try to eat. Perhaps that was why she was such a round baby.
Her childhood was similar to most peoples, just about anyone who went to public school got teased for something. She was made fun of for being fat. Such wonderful rhymes like, “Fatty fatty two by four, couldn't fit through the bathroom door.” came to mind. She just ignored such people, but children are persistent they continued to harass her. Sometimes she fount her things missing from her desk or from her backpack. She wouldn't even bother going to a teacher, they never did anything that helped, like a stern talking to would get her things back.
So one day during recess she sneaked back inside the class. She searched the likely culprits desk and bags and, low and behold, there they were. The only object she really cared about was a small charm her father had given her. The charm was a white diamond with a blue star in the middle on a piece of string. If you were familiar with a pentagram the star looked like that. It was a symbol of a goddess, and symbolic in magic. That is what her father had told her, at least. With her treasure in had she proceeded to dumping all her other things were she found them and taking something valuable from each of them. Things that they cared about, a stuffed animal, a ring, a necklace, a game-boy, and then proceeded to throwing them away in the school dumpster. They should had a lock for that thing, it's dangerous if she had fallen inside she would have been stuck.
As a teenager things were little better. She had lost the weight by eating smaller portions and becoming more active. Silly that the family had needed a doctor to tell them that. Both her parents had a job now just to pay off debts that were starting to build. She often had the apartment to herself after soon, and the awkward period of puberty brought all sort of joys with it. Like acne wasn't bad enough. Vivi had been riding her bike home when she hit a crack just a little too fast and went head first over the handle bars. Blood ran down her knees ruining her socks, and down her arm. The cut on her elbow and knee weren't too deep, but she would need to wash it, put some antiseptic on it. A bandage would probably help too, but as she got on the bike her blood dripped down on the frame and the metal began to melt.
Vivi began to run home as fast as she could, covering her elbow with her hand as she did. Anywhere her blood dripped or splattered began to melt like ice in the summer heat. She ran into the house slamming the door behind her and barricaded herself into her room. She sat in her room bleeding, in the middle of her floor. She wish the blood would just stop. He watch it eat away at her clothes, then hit the floor where it began to eat the floor. “Stop!” She commanded the blood. The red droplets floated in the impression in the floor, the drops from her arm and leg also floated mid air. She looked from from the drops in the air to ones in the floor. She analyzed what she saw and concluded that her command had worked. She tried to force all the blood into a ball by focusing on it. In the air before her all the droplets formed a tightly shaped red ball.
Vivi went over to her bookshelf and pulled out a book on magic. She flipped through the pages looking for a certain section. Reading a few paragraphs she then nodded to herself. The gist of what she had read was to envision and apply her will over the force of nature she wanted to control. She started out small, just making it into other simple shapes at first. Then she tried more complex ones, like the shape of a rabbit and moved it around the room like it was hopping. She tried making a sword and swung it once cutting a book in half before quickly dissipating it.
Magic was Vivi's hobby and main interest. The fact that she had strange powers had to be because of magic. She read just about anything she could get her hands on about magic. In the library she even looked in the science section to see if there was an explanation for magic. She found text on human mutation that mimic certain magical effects. She just didn't believe that it could all be random mutation, there had to be some sort of mystical hand. She hide her abilities, so as to not draw attention, and she read. She liked to read books about magic, but never really found anything of substance. Most of it was entertaining drivel, but did little to help her understand how her magic worked. What were her limits? She wasn't a learned wizard, she had no training, so she had to be something closer to a sorcerer or a witch.
She tried asking her father about magic hundreds of times. He would just laugh and tell her of his simple days as a laborer. Magic was something a normal human did not tamper with. Vivi asked him what about a Sorceress like herself, how was she suppose to deal with magic? She told her father of her gifts. She told him of how she had such raw and direct power at will. Now as a father it was scary enough having a teenage daughter, but one with magic... now that was scary. Hernando tried to recall everything he knew of magic, he hoped it was that and his daughter wasn't a mutant. It was of little help, but just using her power seemed enough for her to gain more control over it. Vivi seemed to be able to intuitively figure out her gift as time wore on. Every now and again they had to replace certain items of their apartment. One time they even left Central Park running, in case anyone wondered about that missing streetlight.
Now going to college was a interesting experience. Vivi had to walk through a particularly rough part of town to get to her subway. Normally she avoided any trouble by taking classes during the day and getting home before sundown, but she had to make up a test. She had managed to butter the teacher enough to give her the make up test, but not enough to get any more time to study for it. So she had to cram in the school library and then take the test which made her thoroughly late for her subway car. So riding the later car back Vivi could feel the eyes of some less then reputable individuals on her. She had an idea of what they wanted from her. Most likely just to hassle her.
“Hey'tha, What's a nice ladie like you doing out so late?” One gentleman asked.
“...” Vivi looked at him momentarily, then opened the book in her hand and began to read.
“Dat's so cold.” The young man approached her with the swagger of most people that prey on young women when no one is looking.
He grabbed her book from her, and looked at the title “A Cognitive Theory of Magic.” He gave a quizzical look, “What kind of shit is this? Magic.”
“I would appreciate it if you returned my belongings.” Vivi said in an even tone.
“What dis?” He gestured to the book. “What are you going to do for it?”
Vivi made a nod of her head and unbuttoned he coat, to the young man's delight, and then reached inside of blouse and pulled out a small rectangular object. A butterfly knife to be exact, she flipped out the knife. “What'cha ya goin' ta do? Try'in cut me?” The man laughed.
Vivi only shook her head and said,” No.” before stabbing herself in the hand.
“Holy shit. This girl is crazy!” The young man said dropping the book and running to the next car.
Vivi came to a realization that night. It was to dangerous for her to live with her parents. Eventually she would hurt someone, and she didn't want her parents to get mixed up in all that. Eventually she moved out. She had completed her Philosophy Degree, her favorite essay she ever wrote being on the philosophy of magic, and had managed to sell herself enough to get a job at Paragon State Insurance Company. She was an Insurance Agent, currently the lowest woman on the totem pole. So oftentimes she was running chores like coffee runs for her seniors. Sometimes her work got her in sticky situations with the wrong kind of people. She just hopes if she has to use her powers, that those people already have insurance.

writing sample:
I never wanted to be the same as everyone else, but I had the sneaking suspicion that I was indeed just another face in the crowd. It wasn't that I thought I should be special, I felt oppressed in the world that I lived in. Everything felt the same day in and day out. I can't remember a single time when people disagreed with one another on something of substance. I was so angry because there were so much more out there. They shut themselves selves in their minds and in their homes. They had blinded themselves from what imagination they might have had as a child. You could say I was bored. You could say that, but looking back I think I just wanted conflict. I wanted change. At my most naive I wanted adventure. "May you live in interesting times." My Grandfather said as he bid me farewell.
I had wanted to try and test new ideas even if no one agreed. I wanted them to think and debate, but most of all I wanted them to disagree on something. Ignorance is born out of stagnation and even if you had the knowledge... Without the will to do something intelligence was meaningless. Chaos, a will for change, you could say these ideas lead me to "leaving" my home. It was much simpler then that. I left because I was asked to leave, I found a calling from the outside world, so I wouldn't argue with a logical request. After all, I gave them something to talk about. Haha, those old cooks.
