More in Depth?
Personality:
Wolverine is frequently depicted as a gruff loner, often taking leave from the X-Men to deal with personal issues or problems. He is often irreverent and rebellious towards authority figures, though he is a reliable ally and capable leader. He has been a mentor and father figure to several younger women, especially Rogue and Kitty Pryde, and has had romantic relationships with numerous women, as well as a mutual but unrequited attraction to Jean Grey, leading to jealous run-ins with her boyfriend (later husband), Scott Summers.
Though he is a skilled combatant, Wolverine is frequently depicted entering combat situations in which he willingly allows himself to sustain injuries that would permanently cripple or kill those without sufficiently enhanced healing capabilities. In such situations, he relies on his healing factor and adamantium skeleton to handle the damage. He is also depicted on occasion deliberately injuring himself or allowing himself to be injured for varying reasons including freeing himself from capture, intimidation, strategy, or simply indulging his feral nature. Despite having an almost superhuman pain tolerance, he does not enjoy being hurt and sometimes has to work himself up for situations where extreme pain is certain.

What I can Do and Can't
Powers:
Regenerative Healing Factor: Wolverine's primary mutant power is an accelerated healing process that enables him to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with far greater efficiency than an ordinary human. Wolverine's accelerated healing powers have been commonly referred to as his mutant healing factor. The full extent and speed of Wolverine's healing factor isn't known. He has been shown to fully heal from numerous gunshot wounds, severe burns covering most of his body, and regenerate missing eyes within a matter of seconds. Among the more extreme depictions of his accelerated healing factor involves him having his skin, mucles, and internal organs incinerated from his skeleton only to fully regenerate the tissue within minutes. This power even amends psychological wounds inflicted as a result of traumatic experiences. However, Wolverine's healing powers force his mind to suppress the memories, sometimes resulting in amnesia.
Superhumanly Acute Senses: Wolverine possesses superhumanly acute senses that are comparable to those of certain animals. He can see at far greater distances, with perfect clarity, than an ordinary human. He retains this same level of clarity even in near total darkness. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, allowing him to detect sounds ordinary humans can't or to hear at much greater distances. He is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if they are well hidden. He can track a target by scent, even if the scent has been greatly eroded by time and weather factors, with an extraordinary degree of success. Wolverine can also use his keen sense of smell to detect lies due to chemical changes within a person's scent. These senses stem from, at least partially, his constant cellular regeneration, as are his enhanced physical capabilities.
Superhuman Strength: Wolverine's Mutant Healing Factor enables him to push his muscles beyond the natural limits of the human body without injury, granting him some degree of superhuman strength. His natural strength is augmented by the demand placed on his musculature due to the presence of over 100 pounds of Adamantium bonded to his skeleton, which also removes the natural limitations of the human skeletal structure by allowing him to lift weights that would damage a human skeleton. Wolverine has been depicted with sufficient strength to break steel chains and he supports the weight of a dozen men with one arm.
Bone Claws: Wolverine's skeleton includes six retractable one-foot-long bone claws, three in each arm, that are housed beneath the skin and muscle of his forearms. Wolverine can, at will, release these slightly curved claws through his skin beneath the knuckles on each hand. The skin between the knuckles tears and bleeds, but the blood loss is quickly halted by his Healing Factor. Wolverine can unsheathe any number of his claws at once, although he must keep his wrists straight at the moment his claws pass from his forearms into his hands. When unsheathed, the claws are entirely within his hands, allowing him to bend his wrists when they are extended. The claws are made of bone, unlike the claws of normal mammals which are made of keratin, and were originally believed to be artificial Adamantium implants. The bone claws are sharp and dense enough to slice through substances as durable as most metals, wood, and stone.
Psionic Resistance: Wolverine reveals that his mind is now highly resistant to telepathic probing and assault due to high level psionic shields implanted in his mind by Professor Charles Xavier.
Abilities:
Master Tactician: Though seemingly brutish, Wolverine is highly intelligent. When Forge monitored Wolverine's vitals during a Danger Room training session, he reported Logan's physical and mental state as "equivalent to an Olympic-level gymnast performing a Gold-medal-winning routine whilst simultaneously beating four chess computers in his head", which gives something of an idea of the level of sophistication and tactical processing Logan is capable of utilizing while in combat. He remembers Ogun teaching him Sun Tzu's The Art of War.
Master Martial Artist: Wolverine has extraordinary hand-to-hand combat ability, and, alongside Captain America and Taskmaster, is considered one of the finest combatants on Earth. Due to his extensive training as a soldier, a C.I.A. operative, a samurai, a spy, and a member of the X-Men, Wolverine is an exceptional hand-to-hand combatant, having mastered virtually every fighting style on Earth and is also well versed in pressure points and the art of espionage. He studied the samurai arts from a man who met the famed 17th century samurai Miyamoto Musashi, Ogun.
Advanced Covert Ops Expert: Due to his experience traveling the world and working for various government agencies, Wolverine is also a trained expert in multiple types of weapons, vehicles, computer systems, explosives, and assassination techniques.
Skilled Mechanic: Along with Nightcrawler, Wolverine has also been the mechanic of the X-Men's Blackbird jet for a long time.
Multi-lingual: A polyglot; Wolverine is fluent in many languages including English, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Cheyenne, Lakota, and Spanish; he has some knowledge of French, German, Thai, Vietnamese, and Portuguese. Ogun taught him Japanese ideograms.
With his increased lifespan and journeys across the globe, he has been able to amass an intimate knowledge of many foreign customs and cultures. Once he saw a kabuki play of The 47 Ronin (Genroku Chûshingura) and remarked how it was one of the finest kabuki troupes he had seen. His exploits have further endowed him with vast awareness of literature and philosophy.
Weaknesses:
Muramasa Blade: Wolverine does possess a few, very specific, vulnerabilities. The efficiency of his mutant healing factor is decreased dramatically if he sustains injury from the Muramasa Blade. Wolverine has been wounded once with the blade and, though the injury was very minor, it doesn't heal completely for several days. Carbonadium Digestion: Wolverine's healing factor is also affected, though to a far less degree, if he ingests Carbonadium. -Wolverine's only other "weakness" is the fact that his heightened senses can be take advantage of. For instance, when he was fighting the Hulk, he was nearly killed by the Hulk's sonic claps due to his heightened sense of hearing.

What Happened to Me
James Howlett's powers first manifested in 1845 Canada after he witnessed the death of his father at the hands of Thomas Logan, who revealed that he was James' biological father only after the grief-stricken James has impaled him with his new claws. Fleeing with his half-brother Victor, the two spent the next several decades operating as soldiers in various wars until they were recruited by William Stryker to join a special team (consisting of Logan, Stryker, Victor, teleporter John Wraith, nigh-invincible Frederick Dukes, marksman David North (a.k.a. Agent Zero), electricity manipulator Chris Bradley and martial artist Wade Wilson).
During a mission in Africa, James left the team after realizing how willing the other members were to kill innocent people to achieve their goals. Moving on to become a lumberjack with a woman called Kayla Silverfox, James - going by the name of his real father, Logan - was lured back to Stryker after the apparently rogue Victor killed Kayla. This prompted him to agree to Stryker's offer to bond his skeleton with adamantium in order to give him the strength to kill Victor.
He asked for dog tags that wrote 'Wolverine' from a tale Kayla had told him, only to flee when he learned that Stryker intended to erase his memories and use his DNA as part of another experiment. Escaping the labs and eliminating the first wave of pursuers - along with his former teammate Agent Zero - Wolverine tracked down teammates John Wraith and Fred Dukes, and learned of a facility where Stryker kept mutants prisoner. Finding the facility (which was located on Three Mile Island) with the aid of Gambit (Remy LeBeau) - the only mutant alive to escape it - Wolverine was horrified to learn that Kayla was actually an agent of Stryker's all along and her death was faked. Logan was spurred back into action when he learned that she did genuinely love him.
Logan and Victor fight
The mutant prisoners escaped, including Kayla's sister Emma and Scott Summers. Wolverine confronted the newly-activated 'Weapon XI' (his old teammate Wade Wilson, his mouth now sealed shut and artificially granted multiple mutant powers), and defeated him with the aid of Victor, who vowed that only he would get to kill his brother.
Before Wolverine could leave with Kayla, however, Stryker shot him in the head with adamantium bullets, subsequently departing after Kayla ordered him to leave using her power of persuasion. When Wolverine regained consciousness, his injuries had healed but the damage to his brain had seemingly permanently destroyed his memories. Wolverine departed the island with no recollection of his past.
Logan became a cigar-smoking loner in Canada where he took on cage fights to make money as "The Wolverine", taking advantage of his adamantium skeleton. One night in a bar, he encountered a young Rogue. She saw Wolverine unleash his retractable adamantium-laced claws when another man engaged Logan in a fight.
Bar Fight
He soon left in his truck, with Rogue sneakily stowing away in the bed. When Logan realized she was in it, he kicked her out, but soon decided to let her ride with him.
On their way, their truck was attacked by Sabretooth (his brother Victor, who had mutated into a feral beast). Wolverine fought him, but was knocked out. Before Sabretooth could do any further damage, he was stopped and chased away by two mutants, Cyclops and Storm, who rescued both Wolverine and Rogue and brought them to the X-Mansion.
When Dr. Jean Grey tried to treat an unconscious Logan, he escaped the medical lab and started exploring the mansion. He discovered that he was in a special school with mutants who were trying to control their unnatural abilities under the tutelage of Professor Charles Xavier. Professor X convinced Wolverine to stay with them and become an X-Man, as he could have a greater chance of discovering more about his forgotten past. He agreed and stayed. A rivalry immediately formed between he and Cyclops as he flirted with Jean, Cyclops's girlfriend.
Later, in order to lure Rogue out of the X-Mansion, Mystique impersonated Bobby Drake, a student who befriended her, and tricked her into leaving as she was a "danger" to everybody else. Magneto planned to use Rogue to control a machine that could turn all humans into mutants. When Wolverine found out about Rogue's absence, he along with the X-Men reached the Statue of Liberty where Magneto was operating on his plans. In the process, Wolverine encountered Mystique and stabbed her, nearly killing her, but she survived.
He and Sabretooth engaged in battle, ending with Cyclops blasting Sabretooth off the Statue (never to be seen again). In the end, Wolverine freed Rogue from Magneto and the machine, although it seemed to have been too late to save her. Wolverine suffered life-threatening injuries when he intentionally made contact with Rogue, allowing her to absorb his mutant healing factor in order to recover. After awakening in the mansion and recovering from his vast injuries, he declared his sincere amorous feelings for a reticent Jean. As a reward of his victory along with the X-Men, Professor X gave Wolverine a hint for the search of his past, directing him to the mysterious Alkali Lake in Canada. Prior to his departure, Wolverine left his dog tag necklace with Rogue, promising that he would come back for it. He departed on
Continuing his search, Logan finally discovered Alkali Lake, only to find an old and deserted factory. Disappointed, he returned to the X-Mansion. Logan was given the responsibility of looking after the mutant children in Professor X's absence, who planned to visit Magneto in his "plastic prison" with Cyclops to discover the information he had given to William Stryker. Jean Grey and Storm also left in search of Nightcrawler, who had been accused of attacking the President of the United States. When the Professor was interrogating Magneto, he learned that Magneto had leaked all the information about the X-Mansion and Cerebro to Stryker under the influence of a brainwashing drug). Moreover, Professor X was then kidnapped along with Cyclops by Stryker's forces.
Back in the X-Mansion, at night, Wolverine had nightmares of his involvement in the mysterious Weapon X program, and decided to walk around the mansion, and he started chatting with Bobby Drake (Iceman), Rogue's boyfriend. All of a sudden, Stryker along with his military troops invaded the mansion and began to the look for Cerebro. Wolverine killed many of the soldiers, and saved the mutant children. He asked Colossus, Bobby, Rogue and Pyro to leave. He however never would be sure if they managed this.

Logan had been back for perhaps some weeks, even if most hadn't noticed that small little fact since he hadn't claimed his lessons yet, which was mostly the sign he was back in the mansion.
Walking into the danger room he had his X-men suit on, which he in fact mostly did when he trained here. In his hand he held a long piece of cloth. For reasons which for others would be unknown. Drawing in a deep breath.
"Start up Run 101 Omega Level."
His low gruff voice sounded through the danger room. Since the room was only a big empty room now his voice echoed a bit. He waited for a moment as nothing happened. Another voice sounded.
"Unable to comply, run to dangerous to..."
"Override. Codename Wolverine."
He now heard the sounds of the danger room shifting. The sign he could begin his run. Moving his hands up he placed the cloth over his eyes like a blindfold. It was time to do some serious training. He would have no androids who would attack him but more of a trap level. Every step he took would trigger some sort of trap thrown at him.
Letting his claws slide out he began by dashing forwards. The noise of air being pushed aside, it was a large object he could tell. He counted down and ducked, rolling over he moved his claws up and effectively cut the object in two, he could hear two pieces fall down and quickly got up to run on.
As soon as things would start to fall more and more traps would be triggered and soon it became a game of duck, crawl, jump and slash.
His little game was turning out to go quite well. He had been able to dodge most of the things thrown at him and what did hit him didn't cause to much damage. He had only just jumped up on small gun turret which was firing at him to destroy it when he heard more noise behind him. Pulling himself down he destroyed the turret with one aimed slash and jumped off, landing on his feet.
The sudden opening of the doors behind him made Logan lose his concentration for a split second. He wasn't sure... the steps inside cause two traps to be triggered. One behind him, which he could leave for now and one near the one who entered. Pushing off he dashed for Rahne claws extended. The last bit he jumped and pushed her out of the way.
The moment the impact took place he knew what had been triggered, not his favourite part... A giant sledge hammer which would come lose from the ceiling and swing through the danger room to come to a halt against the wall. It caught him full in the side and soon the loud bang of him smashing into the wall and the hammer moving back up could be heard.
"Urrrgh... freeze... run."
He was half smashed into the wall causing him to hang there for a moment before he fell down and the program froze on his command. Moving one arm up, like doing in in slow motion he ripped the blindfold off.
He now rolled on his belly and with trouble pushed himself up to his knees.
