More in Depth?
Personality:
X-23 is a girl of very few words. Due to her upbringing in such a controlled environment, she has difficulty understanding ‘everyday’ language and expressions.
She was trained to be a killer, she is able to kill dozens of opponents during a single encounter without showing little emotion or remorse. X-23 has trouble comprehending and expressing new emotions, and ever since a very young age she use to cut herself with her claws when experencing these unfamiliar feelings.
X-23's mother, Dr. Sarah Kinney, did her best to ensure the child retained some semblance of humanity, but her efforts appeared to be in vain. X-23 rarely spoke, or expressed much interest in her mother, the only time when she had done so was after her mother’s death which she blames herself for. Despite the upbringing X-23 received, she has at times shown signs of humanity.
Mom’s name: Dr. Sarah Kinney (Surrogate)
Dad’s name: Logan (Cloned from)
Siblings names: Various other clones who were deemed failed experiments.
Other important relatives: N/A
What I can Do and Can't
Powers: Like Logan, X-23 possesses the ability to regenerated damaged or destroyed areas of her body at a supherhuman rate, which varies depending on the severity of the damage. Her healing factor also allows her immunity to poisons and most drugs. There are some drugs which work; tranquilizers for example, but that is only in massive doses. She also has an enhanced resistance to diseases and fatigue poisons, thus further enhancing her agility and reflexes.
She also has superhumanly acute senses which allows her to see and hear things at a greater distance than regular humans. She can recognise people and objects by scent, and is able to track any creature with an impressive degree of success.
Similar to Logan, X-23’s skeleton also includes retractable bone claws in each arm, however unlike him, she has two claws in each arm, and one in each foot. Unsheathing these claws causes her skin to tear and bleed, but the wounds are dealt with her healing facor. The claws are naturally sharp and each have been coated with Adamantium, allowing X-23 to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials. Presumably X-23’s healing factor will also provide her with an extended lifespan by slowing down the effcts of the aging process.
Abilities: She was raised to become a living weapon. She is highly trained in the use of long range weapons and explosives and is an expert in assassination techniques. She is a formidiable hand-to-hand combatant with extensive knowledge of many martial arts techniques.
She is an expert tracker due to her enhnaced sense of smell. She is also highly intelligent and can speak fluent English, French and Japanese .
Weaknesses: Despite the extent of her healing factor, she is not immortal. Injuries which are the result of large amounts of blood loss and loss of vital organs are potentially lethal, or at the very least incapacitate her for a period of time as she heals. Her acute senses can also be turned against her, a sensory overload would turn the tables against her and she would be at a disadvantage.
X-23 has also been subject to a specific ‘trigger scent’ which sends her into a berserker rage, resulting in the death of everything in sight.
She can also only unsheathe her claws when her wrists and/or feet are straight, so if she is restrained properly she may not be able to use them.
What Happened to Me
As an attempt to replicate the original Weapon X, Wolverine, renowned mutant geneticist Doctor Sarah Kinney was recruited to develop a clone of Wolverine using DNA which Stryker had taken from the man. However, as the only genetic sample was damaged, Kinney was unable to salvage the Y chromosome needed to create the clone. She proposed that a female clone should be created instead, but was denied. Despite this, Kinney decided to try anyway and after 22 failed attempts to duplicate the X chromosome, the 23rd sample yielded a viable embryo and she was allowed to proceed, acting as the surrogate mother of the clone. Nine months later ‘X-23’ is born.
Raised in captivity, X-23 was trained to be a weapon. At the age of 7 she was subjected to radiation poisoning by a man named Doctor Zander Rice in order to accelerate the activation of her mutant gene. Her claws were extracted and coated them with adamantium, all while she was still wide awake and without any anesthetics. She was also subjected to a ‘trigger scent’ which drove her into a killer rage whenever she detected it.
Three years later, X-23 was sent on her first field mission to kill Presidential candidate Greg Johnson. Numerous other missions followed, as X-23's services were sold to the highest bidder, and she was left emotionally stunted as a result. Rice, in an attempt to avenge his father's murder, abandoned X-23 on a particularly dangerous mission, but she survived against overwhelming odds and managed to return to the facility.
Ultimately, Rice persuaded Sutter to hand over control of the program to him, then secretly ordered X-23 to kill Sutter and his family. Later, Rice revealed to Kinney a chamber with dozens of incubation pods containing female clones before he fired her. Before fleeing the facility with X-23, Kinney gave her one last mission - destroy the pods and kill Rice. However, Rice was able to exact revenge on Kinney from beyond the grave, as he had earlier exposed her to the trigger scent, sending X-23 into a rage that caused her to kill her mother. As she laid dying, Kinney named X-23 Laura and told her to find Wolverine.
In the aftermath, X-23 set out to find Logan, the man whom she had been cloned from, but was unsuccessful. She went to the X-Mansion in the hopes of finding the man only to discover that he had been long gone. Only recently did she discover his possible whereabouts, captured in a mutant prison. She attempted to break in, but in the process was unexpectedly overwhelmed and captured.

What Xavier and Logan did not know was that Laura had gone back to Weapon Plus. So imagine her surprise when Xavier had found her and put her together with Wolverine to investigate the tunnels. It was an offer that she could not turn down, and even her superiors had agreed that she should take the mission. It would bring her closer to the X-Men.
And so here they were, exploring the Morlock’s tunnels and searching for any signs of the tunnel-dwellers. X-23 hung behind Logan, looking out for anything that he could’ve missed. Though the thought was unlikely – Logan was the best of the best. There would be little that escaped the man.
“Nothing.”
X-23 replied as she emerged from one of the tunnels. There wasn’t even a scent which she could track. Xavier had them on a wild-goose chase and she did not appreciate that.
“Does the Professor even have a single idea where they are?”
She looked around the cavern, taking in the small details as she did so. Indeed there was no tell-tale sign that anyone had been there recently. The Morlocks had long gone. The clone glanced back at Logan, looking expectant. The Morlock’s tunnels were vast, she would prefer to know that they were looking in the right place rather then the wrong one.
