Gender: Female

How I look Now
Hair: Fairly long and dark brown. She tends to part her fringe to the right.
Eyes: Hazel
Look Description: 5’1” and 106lbs (when fully solid) Kitty has a petite, slim build and a fine physical build due to training and combat experience with the X-Men. She doesn’t really care about flaunting her body around and prefers to wear loose-fitting clothing. Though this doesn’t mean she has bad fashion taste. She in fact, has a strong sense of fashion and enjoys wearing vibrant and complimentary hues when in casual attire.
Done it Myself: She’s got a piercing in each lobe, done at the local chemist when she was younger.
It just Happened: N/A
More in Depth?
Personality:
Kitty is much more intelligent then most would give her credit for. She admits to being a bit of a geek, her thirst for knowledge is almost impossible to satisfy. She can usually be found amongst the books, or on the computer.
Kitty loves a good joke and is generally a cheerful person. She tends to make witty comments and can be quite sarcastic. She can be stubborn and quite opinionated when she wants to be and doesn’t back down when she feels that she’s in a bad situation.Kitty is able to think for herself rather then following orders all the time (though this does tend to get her into trouble at times). To her friends, she’s loyal and would do just about anything to defend them if need be.
She’s slowly recovering from her time spent in prison, Kitty hasn’t quite been the same since then. She’s suffering from a mild depression and misses home terribly. Although she’s pretty good at hiding it all under a smile so that the other’s wouldn’t pick up on it.
Mom’s name: Theresa Pryde
Dad’s name: Carmen Pryde
Siblings names: N/A
Other important relatives: None of note.
What I can Do and Can't
Powers: Intangibility[/b] Kitty has the ability to “phase” through solid matter by shifting her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she is moving. Kitty can phase her clothing along with herself, and through practice has learned to phase other objects and people without harm to them. The density of some materials (such as adamantium) can prove deleterious to her phasing, causing her to be severely disoriented or experience pain if she tries to pass through them.
When Kitty phases through an object with an electrical system, the process disrupts the system's workings. This includes the electrical impulses found in the human brain. Kitty can phase part or all of her body through another living being without harm to herself, though the other being can be rendered unconscious as a result. Kitty also has the potential to kill another being by phasing them into a solid object and then releasing them, causing them to solidify whilst still within the object.
Kitty passes through objects at the same rate of speed at which she is moving before phasing. Since she is unable to breathe while phasing, she can only continuously phase through solid objects - as when she travels underground - as long as she can hold her breath. Kitty can keep her phased form at rest in relation to the rotation of the Earth upon its axis, thus allowing her to assume a ground speed of the length of a football field and a half every second. Kitty can also walk on air whilst phasing.
Kitty can also extend her powers to phase other people and objects. Currently, she is able to phase at least a half a dozen other people (or objects of similar mass) with her, so long as they establish and maintain physical contact with her.
Abilities: Before becoming an X-Men she had undertaken ballet and dance, from which she has a natural grace in her movements. She’s also fairly competent with technology.
Weaknesses: Kitty is unable to breathe while phasing and can only continuously phase through objects for as long as she can hold her breath. She has discovered that phasing through dense materials is more difficult and some, in particular, adamantium, can cause her great pain (even to the point of unconsciousness).
Even in her intangible state, she is vulnerable to mystical attacks and some form of energies have shown to disrupt her ability (though lightning and lasers have been shown to be harmless to her in her phased state) In her normal state she is still mortal and thus is vulnerable to attacks.
Kitty also, while a moderately capable fighter lacks the physical strength to overcome larger opponents. She tends to take the defensive when forced into a fight.

What Happened to Me
Katherine Anne Pryde was born in Deerfield, Illinois to Carmen and Theresa Pryde. She is of Jewish descent. Unlike many of the other X-Men, Kitty’s history was filled with a happy childhood and fairly average lifestyle. She was a good kid, top of her classes and easy to get along with. A self professed geek, Kitty enjoyed quenching her thirst for knowledge and also had a fascinaion with technology. On an impulse, she decided to take up dance and soon found that she couldn’t draw herself away. In the end that too became one of her passions.
Kitty’s normal lifestyle however, was shattered when she turned fourteen. She began suffering from headaches and fainting spells – a result of her mutant powers beginning to manifest. It was dark times for Kitty, with worries for her health despite the doctors reassuring her that everything was fine. Never before in her life had she been more terrified. Then the nightmare came, and the first instance of her power was shown. She had dreamt that she was falling into nothingness. The next thing she knew, she had woken up and found herself lying on the couch downstairs, her blankets partly phased through the ceiling. Terrified at what was happening to her, Kitty confined herself to her room.
Her parents were approached by Xavier, whom offered her a place at his school for mutants. He assured them that he could help her with her problems. Already at their wits end, Kitty’s parents agreed and sent her off to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
At first Kitty had been quiet and introverted, shying away from the other mutants, but gradually she began to get used to the mansion and it’s occupants, even coming to terms with her own abilities. Kitty’s true personality began to shine through again and she adapted well to life at the mansion. The peace, however was not to last as trouble stirred between the mutants and humans. Kitty was among the captured when the mansion was raided and her time in prison didn’t do her any favours, even though she was much more fortunate then some of the prisoners. She hated her captivity, despising the fact that she was so useless as they all suffered. Even after the subsequent escape, the feeling has carried through. She’s suffering going through a mild depression and is homesick, but she’s doing her best to hide her troubles from the rest of her friends.

writing sample:
After the subsequent recovery of her memories, Kitty had left the X-Men for a while, her reason being that she needed a break from the mansion and time to gather her thoughts. Although she had regained mind, she hadn't returned to normal right away, the clash of memories along with her two different mindsets had been giving her headaches for weeks on end. She was still recovering mentally, but she was almost back to her old self prior to the brainwashing and had returned to the X-Men just a few days ago in preparation for Jean and Logan's big day.
It was a rather hot day that day, Kitty had decided to go for a swim and was currently strolling out of the mansion. A towel was slung over her shoulder with an alert Lockheed perched ontop of the towel, his claws lightly digging into her. She was clad in a navy blue bikini and had a pair of sandals on her feet as she trudged down the lawn and towards the pool. Seeing a familiar figure already occupying the pool, the teenager perked up and called out, "Hey! Ororo!" She waved cheerfully, dropping her towel by one of the seats and approaching the side of the pool.
